Embark on a mysterious Viking expedition at the Jelling Complex.

In this hands-on adventure for families, players take on the role of archaeologists, delving into the Viking age using a custom map and audio clues. Through the innovative use of Near-Field Communications (NFC) technology, the ghosts of Jelling’s past come to life through audio bites, unlocking fascinating stories of the past. these clues lead the players to find the seven missing runes on the map.

This project was made as part of The Play-Based Internship course that I was doing at Kongernes Jelling Museum.

Players are given a Top Secret File and their first audio clue inside the museum. This leads them to a spot where they discover a hidden rune and their next audio clue.

Listen to Gorm The Old’s ghost.

The magic unfolds as these audio clues, strategically placed throughout the journey, bring the Viking age to life. Harald, Gorm and Thyrra lead the young explorers to different spots where they discover the hidden runes.
